We glued down yarn and cotton balls to our kites.

We drew a picture of something wacky.

We made our Easter baskets.

We learned that St. Joseph, the father of Jesus, is the protector of families. A long time ago, an island called Sicily in Italy experienced a famine. They didn’t have any food to eat so they prayed to St. Joseph to provide them with food. The famine ended and the people of Sicily celebrated with a feast. Today, Italians celebrate this special day in honor of St. Joseph. They gather with their families and have a feast to celebrate the protector of families.

We talked about Palm Sunday and watched a video of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey. We discussed that on Palm Sunday, Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey. People laid palms on the ground in front of him to show respect. Palm Sunday is the final Sunday of Lent. In church, people receive palms that are blessed by the priest. The palms are then made into crosses or placed on crosses.

Have a good weekend!
